Terrifying and tragic. The atmosphere of this story was heavy and hung on to me all last evening. And there's something about this kind of isolation. It's almost maddening.

An excellent work.

Thanks, Jennifer! Yes, that kind of loneliness is frightening at a primal level.

To write something both beautiful and dark at the same time is a real talent and is clearly what you have. As a lover of fairytales, especially the dark ones, I adored this story. The evocation of winter was truly breathtaking. And how she insists it is an angel but then...

Magnificent piece of writing, this is.

The horror. The horror. The horror. Oh, my days, the horror! Myths brought eerily to life, then slain, now walk again in the dread night. This tale of terror will be creeping me out in my sleep for weeks! The authentic voice of the narrator with her simple faith juxtaposed against the eldritch creature—genius! If there's a prize for this event, you've won it!

Thanks, Jessica! I always wanted to write a wendigo story, but the legend is so…enormous, I couldn’t think what I could say about it. Big and Beastly gave me the opportunity!
