Oh Liz, you know I love a strong female protagonist--even if she is a maneater! And my favorite line, "the trees leaned into the dark halo of his vision like funeral attendees poring over a coffin."
You're on a roll Liz. Terrific stuff. Loved this line, 'The stone pushed up out of the shaley earth like the great, grinding molars of giants.' - and about twenty more lines. Really enjoyed this one. - Jim
I tried to comment on your note, but my app kept crashing for some reason.
I’m a big fan of on-the-nose symbolism and representations of the unconscious. I think that’s why I love stories involving these types of transformation so much!
Really looking forward to another werewolf tale, Liz!
Yes! Symbolism and the endless wilds of the unconscious can never grow dull for me. I often find the connections taking form on the page as I write, not at all what I intended, like messages from another realm. Stories are magic that way.

I’m glad you liked it! Just a little caution that there is always a wilder wolf in the forest…
Omg Eliz.
😈
That was fun!
So satisfying! So beautifully written!
Thanks, Janice! So glad you liked it. 😊
Engaging! It kept my attention the whole way
Thank you! I’m so happy you liked it. Good to see you at the Palace!
Great imagery. I could feel the cold and the impending storm.
Thanks for reading, Bear! I don’t know why so many of my stories tend to happen in late autumn or winter. I should offer blankies and tea with them!
Thanks Bill! Who is worse? I leave that up to the reader, although I know who I choose as the real monster.
Compelling portrait of a predator and a nice twist at the end!
The tables were turned!!! Great
Thanks so much, Bridget! That really means a lot!
This was such a delight, Liz! I want to read it again just to savor your prose!
Oh the imagery!
As she led him on a merry chase.
He was more than a little cocky, and the true monster here!
Thanks so much, Jim! I’m glad you liked it. It isn’t groundbreaking in the sense of the werewolf trope, but I did enjoy painting the picture.
