Oh! Also, the same photo is used for every episode, sort of like a cover. The only difference is the episode number/subtitle. Just to make things trickier, lol.
I don't think so? But I have used other photos similar to it and in those grey tones...foggy, wintry woods and mountains seem to be my jam! Sorry for the confusion.
Dammit with the plot spoiler in your comment section. What the hell! In any case, this is phenomenal. Nobody writes like you do, Liz. The worlds you create are vast, breathing places and I can't wait to see what dark corners you whisk me off to this time. Masterful!
So glad you enjoyed it, Ken! This is the story I was/am chipping away at as I go. More and more of it is revealed to me as I write and study what’s come out on the page.
The Byronesque vibes are strong with this one. By the way, I just finished reading Tales from the Palace of Night and I love how gracefully and easily you can switch up your style, atmosphere, and setting between stories.
Liz! Ohhh, hell yeah. I don't know where to begin. For one thing, fantastic character names. That just flat doesn't happen without a lot of thought. I'm all in and waiting for the next part. - Jim
Thanks, Jim! I love figuring out character names. They are important. I think this will be a horror adventure with lots of nods to classic horror characters. But I want depth, too. Will Dovedale is pretty horrible (as we’ll see), but he does have a lot of layers.
He's not a reading man, this Dovedale, is he? Especially not vampire stories... Great set-up!
Haha! Not so much, no. He’s more a man of (nefarious) action.
I’ve just started this story. I thought I’d already read it but I have,’t. Have you used that photo before?

Yes, each time I’ve seen this appear I’ve thought, I’ve read this one.

It just means I’ve been missing a story I’m enjoying reading, that’s all. I’ll catch up xx
Fabulous and enticing! And what an absolute cad this Dovedale is... most evocative and beautifuly visual. Huge admiration!
Thanks, Nick! Oh, Dovedale is a cad and far worse!
i forsee a beautifully rendered demise for him…ultimately…after more horrid deeds…but dont let on!
Hmmm…you may be right, I shan’t tell. But there is much adventure to be had first!
im getting onto parts 2-5 shortly. You reall nail the prose Liz. love this style… partial to it myself as you know! 🤓
Thank you, Nick! I’m so glad you’re enjoying it!
grand!
I'm incredibly intrigued. I love the mystery. I love a hunt for artifacts.
Your detail, especially relating to the main character, is excellent.
I can't wait to see where this goes.
Thanks, Jennifer! I think this one is going to be at least novella length. Really delving into the character of Will Dovedale.

Onto Part 2!
Thanks so much, Kit! I’m so glad you enjoyed the book! Thanks for being a reader at The Palace 💚
Your writing is so good! Now I wanna check out part 2. Keep on writing, fellow writer!
Thank you so much! That makes my day!
Fantastic start, Liz! You’ve set the scene and the characters so vividly. Seems like a great horror adventure story in the making!
Thanks, Garen!
The prince is a vampire, isn’t he…
You’re on to me, Leanne! I’m still working that end of things out, though.
Wonderful tale can’t wait for more.❤️
Thanks, Dad!

Dripping in delicious detail, per usual, Liz. If this is the amuse-bouche, then I eagerly await the main course. Hook is set. More, please.
Thanks, Shane! There is more to come and it gets deeper quickly.
More! Pretty please 🩷
Thanks, Renee! More will come soon!
