Liz, no question in my mind, The Skeptic 1 & 2 is some of the best writing I've read from you - and that's really saying something considering how you consistently write superior pieces. Really enjoyed this! - Jim
I haven't finished reading "The Skeptic Part Two," but I really liked the first part. Your description of the house is exceptional: "Three miles further on, Sparrowgate hulks into view, broad-shouldered and blank with that drowsing introversion that abandoned houses adopt. Black-eyed dormers stare out at the frisking snowflakes and the two tiny people trudging down the long drive, and the house’s dream state shivers." It is up there with the description of Hill House in Shirley Jackson's classic.
Thank you so much, Sandy! To be compared favorably with Shirley Jackson is the highest of praise. I am so pleased you enjoyed Part 1! I hope you’ll find Part 2 as satisfying. So nice to have you at the Palace!
You know a story's great when you get the major creeps but cannot read fast enough to see how it ends!
That’s a huge compliment; thank you! It is my pleasure to creep you out. 😁😁
Amazing ending. Incredible work.
The way you used sound to allow the reader to experience the world was exceptional.
Thanks, Jennifer! I’m so glad you enjoyed it!
Oh! Well, wow. Did not expect it to end quite so quickly. You have an amazing imaginative voice!
Thanks, Leanne! It was a bit of a twist, lol. 😈
Wow some of your best work yet. I loved it❤️
Thanks so much! I’m so glad you liked it!
